“Advanced” class is reviewing stuff that they covered in the “before beginner” class. I knew this stuff two years ago! Eta: “look!” Here are the advanced settings I’m not going to go over those – they are self explanitory anyway – I’ll go back to showing you basic stuff. . .

I know a lot of people are running around a little freaked by some of the news about SixApart (LJ’s owners) laying off a bunch of people. I try not to let this kind of thing perturb me too much (remember the great strike out, and the lj boycott etc), but I also like to be prepared. I called in sick at 7:30 this morning – having only gotten 3 hours of sleep and having terrible cramps. I have yet to stop working. Sometimes being tech savvy sucks. I just wanted a fucking nap.

Things are looking up a bit. The tech folks at my isp gave me access to a fairly recent backup. I am currently playing around with it and will see if I can get things set back up. One thing they have offered very little help with is future security. Is there anyone who feels qualified and willing to look at my access logs and help me figure out what happened so I can prevent it from happening again?
So in the midst of my web nightmare, my hard drive is also failing on my brand new laptop. Okay not loving that it is failing, but less than 10 minutes on tech support and I have a new drive that should arrive by the end of the week. This should make life better. Thank you Dell for not sucking.
