As the title says, I plan on jumping into Linux with two feet and minimal protection gear. I hope to have a functioning and self-supportable Linux server installed and running here by November. And I am starting (pretty much) cold. I know quite a few of you out there have a lot of linux experience. I didn’t know if you all might have some suggestions of good places to start, good resources, or any other kinds of useful tidbits.

I remember hearing it read when I was a kid – about a girl who lived (I think) on mars, where it rained all the time for years on end. So I am looking into voice recognition (specifically the voice to text part) for one of my co-workers. Is Dragon still the best option – are there other good options? Any good advice or something we should know going in?
