Sad computer is Sad … but ..

So my home laptop twitched and went *poof* last night and Dell is sending nice men with screwdrivers and parts to fix it some time tomorrow afternoon. I was getting ready to post a … so call because I won’t have quite the access I usually would. But..

Between my phone and my work computer I think I am basically covered … and i don’t think YOU all need to worry about my lack of fan-fiction for 24 hours.

Brella Productions is a Video and Multimedia production company located in Evanston, IL that specializes in sales, marketing and training projects for our corporate clients using video, multimedia and the web. We are expanding and looking to add an Administrative Assistant who will help with front desk reception, answering the operator line, office administration, executive producer support, general client relations, and some miscellaneous production. We are looking for someone who is outgoing, articulate, and cheerful. The position can be quirky at times (find a whale costume or ship out 100 3D umbrella shaped cookies) so you should enjoy tackling challenges with a smile and an open mind. You must be computer literate, VERY detail oriented, super organized, comfortable on the phone and able to use Word and Excel. Other production skills and past communication experience is a plus, but is NOT a requirement as we are more than willing to train the right person!

This is a full time entry level position with health and retirement benefits. Initial hourly compensation is $ 12.00 per hour.

Ideal hours are M-F 9-5pm, but we are somewhat flexible.

We are conveniently located in Evanston with plenty of parking and within walking distance of the Metra & CTA.

Pandagon has a wonderful article called “More on the Independence Tap Dance”

here is the part that originally caught my minds-eye:

So that brings me to the side of a young lady (say me at 20) sitting tearfully by the door at 7PM waiting for her boyfriend to show up, which he was supposed to do at 6PM. Again. Sure, he’s got a half-assed story, a story that gets weaker and weaker every time this happens as he pushes her to see what more crap she will tolerate. If she fusses and tries to demand better treatment, she will get accused of being needy and clingy when she should be exuding Confidence, which the feminists have told her is Sexy. Why should she need her dates to show up on time anyway? Neediness is so unattractive, you know.

And our young woman knows on a certain level that she must actually stand up for herself for real, issue the ultimatium. But she doesn’t do this and she procrastinates and things get worse and worse because she fears that if she really does stand up for herself, he’ll dump her and it’ll turn out that it wasn’t true that Confidence Is Sexy after all. Which she secretly suspects, due to her awareness of the existence of Marilyn Monroe, for one thing. And this is how feminist women get tripped into these really ugly passive aggressive games. So what to do?”
