Yep I know I haven’t done this in a while. But I am so pleased to be picking it up again so I can host:

Who: Cheshire Moon – Eric and Lizzie with all their Awesomeness
When: Saturday March 17th (yep St. Patty’s day)
More When: Concert will start around 7, I would show up *early* to get seats and snacks. Show up 6:30ish or earlier. If you show up later please use the side door by the driveway. If you are bringing instruments for the music circle PLEASE try to come early for the ease of instrument storage.
Where: Evan and My house . . . for more specifics and location and facilities Click Here
How Much?: As always, we will be passing the hat, we ask that the audience put in what they think is reasonable for a full length show.
RSVP – YES please!!!! Bring your friends, as well, just RSVP for both you and them. . . (that way I can try to have enough chairs setup and also food enough for everyone) You can comment here, or send email to musicATalyse.org.

Cheshire Moon is the fanciful collaboration of trickster bird Lizzie Crowe and crazed magician Eric Coleman.

What began as a simple joining of two talents in song circles, and occasionally during the mad-hatter antics of Eric Coleman on stage, whipped and frothed into the most likely of pairs. Eric’s love of punk, folk and prog rock gives them an… eerie, otherworldly sound, while Lizzie brings the voice of that otherworld to life in chorus and verse.

Together they bring about a torrent that is as playful as it is lightly sinister, all wrapped up in a pretty little beribboned box. Do you dare to open it?

If you’d like some samples of what you’ll be hearing you can listen to some clips at the Cheshire Moon Website.

Song Circle: Once the concert is over, we will convert the living room into a song circle. Please bring yourself, your instruments, your voice, and your willingness to participate! As usual Evan and I will provide snacks and soda and water, but potluck items are always welcome.

I know a number of you have been to Kat Eggleston concerts at my house, and some of you may have even purchased Drawn from the Well, her duo album with fiddler Kate Macleod.

Well she and Kate MacLeod have recorded a second CD and are looking for some help getting it to print. If you are interested in pre-paying for the CD you know you’ll inevitably purchase , you might consider kickstarting their project.

If you haven’t heard either of them but are curious, each of the links on their last names will take you to their lastfm page where they have songs you can stream.

I know I am only one of many many folks who often knit during concerts – I don’t *think* that this is disruptive – but don’t know for sure. But I was looking at the concert schedule for Windycon this weekend and realized I would probably be spending hours at a time in the concert room and thought that it would be great to spin (like with a spinning wheel) during the concerts – I rarely get that kind of extended sitting time, especially with such excellent entertainment and kind of wanted to take advantage of it. It is a great hobby for me, i find it relaxing for my hands and body and great to do to music or an audio book.

Does anyone have an opinion – I wouldn’t want to do it if it was rude or distracting for the musician or the other audience members – thoughts?
