I remember hearing it read when I was a kid – about a girl who lived (I think) on mars, where it rained all the time for years on end.  And it was scheduled to stop raining for the first time in years, and she ends up locked in a closet. Ring any bells? FOUND!!! thankyou everyone! All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Summer_in_a_Day

After mea culpaing – and saying I was full of fail – Here is what I am doing: I am going for brunch. I am gonig to Wishbone (the one in the west Loop) I will be there, Evan will be there, Helen Pope will be there. David and Erin will probably be there – and anyone else who wants to come can be there. They do NOT take reservations for breakfast. I will be there to eat at 10am. Anyone else who is there, can also join me. Yes I realize 10am is early. They tell me they are [...]

I sometimes realize how terrible I am at updating with any useful content up here.  So while I sit here and let bread rise (yes at 11:55 pm) I’d try to write up a bit. I have a (maybe weird) question for you all – If you learn something about an artist/writer/musician etc. that inclines you to think quite a bit less of the artist/musician/writer – does that affect how you feel about what they have produced?  Do you read books by authors who you have personal objections to?  Would you listen to music by an artist who is personally morally objectionable?  How about learn it and play it in a concert or a circle?  Does viewing an artistic creation by a criminal affect they way you feel when you look at the art?

Originally posted at Which-Crafts I really enjoy it when two very separate things come together. I have a bunch of stitch pattern books by Barbara G. Walker that are quite well known and very popular in knitting circles. When I was sorting books out for my recent book purge I ran across “The Woman’s Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets” and “The Secrets of the Tarot” also by Barbara G. Walker. I did a bit of internet digging and yes indeedy – they are the same person.
