Here is some stuff I read that I thought was interesting:
- August 6th – Keeping Your Eye On the Ball – Good write up of the Magical Negro and Women and Fridges and some of the fannish squawking about it.
- August 4th – Race And Gay Marriage In Perspective – His last two paragraphs are phenomenal, and I think the whole post is fantastic.

- A Medical Proofreader for a Freelance project up at Abbott PPD. If you know anyone in the Medical Proofreading field that would be interested in a project like this, please let us know immediately. This assignment is ongoing as needed; this is standardly a 9-5 on location assignment at Abbott Park. We will need resumes and freelance hourly rates sent to hr@brella.com as soon as possible.
- NEEDED IMMEDIATELY – A Senior Graphic Designer with a focus on Print work; must be MAC and Adobe proficient and have at least 10 years’ experience. This is an on-going position and is on location at Abbott Park. We will need resumes and freelance hourly rates sent to hr@brella.com as soon as possible.
- A web designer with HTML, PHP /ASP, and Java knowledge; Database experience such as SQL a big plus. This position will have some on-site training in the next couple of weeks. This is blinkie number two. I was a blinkie newbie this weekend. By the end I was a total convert.
To be clear, for the folks not familiar with the blinkie panel, I made that. I purchased a kit with all the parts, and with the equipment provided, learned how to assemble and solder it together.
