Folks General Handcraft Circle and Mayhem Society
Welcome to the craft event FAQ page, this is always a work in progress so if you don’t see an answer to your question please e-mail me or post a question on this page.
Invitations
All of the craft events are open invitation. But RSVPs are strongly encouraged so that I can plan for seating space and snacks. Feel free to pass on information and invtitations along with the RSVP request. If RSVPs are too plentiful, I might have to close the event but if that is the case I will let people know (its never happened yet.) There is some more information that relates below – keep reading!
Folks what??
This event is for anyone who is interested in doing handcrafts in a social environment. We welcome both men and women and people are encouraged to bring any small portable handcraft. If you will need table space for your craft please let me know ahead of time, so that I can configure the space correctly. Mostly we sit and craft and are social – discussion topics range wildly and range from the weather to adult topics – be prepared.
The Doors Open
The doors open at 1pm and close when the last guest leaves.
Craft Instruction
Some basic instruction or guidance for hand crafts like knitting, crocheting or spinning may be available. Please contact me ahead of time to make arrangements and to suggest a supply list.
What can I bring?
Thank you for asking!
Please bring some snacky item that you are willing to share. Also bring everything you need to work on your craft. Also if you need a large flat surface (like a table) please call ahead and let me know, so I can have one available.
Food
For dedicated crafters who are still at the house at dinner time we usually order dinner. We have Chinese, Indian, Mexican and Italian available to order and we generally end up putting orders in at more than one place. If you plan on staying for dinner please bring cash to pay for your food.
So really what do you do?
knit, crochet, sew, restore antiques, scrapbook, felt, cross stitch, embroider, tat, draw, spin, program . . . if you don’t see yours on the list that’s fine, bring it so we can add to the list and learn about a new craft.
