It always surprises me, that in a group of people who are addicted to reading/watching/thinking about all of the posibilities science and/or magic can bring to our world, there are so many that are personally and politically so conservative.

*whine* I really hate that weather that requires you dress up so warm that every time you get back inside you have to strip off 4 layers or risk collapsing of heat prostration. *whine* Also what is it with women forgoing hats for umbrellas in sub-zero snowy weather. I know a lot of people are running around a little freaked by some of the news about SixApart (LJ’s owners) laying off a bunch of people. I try not to let this kind of thing perturb me too much (remember the great strike out, and the lj boycott etc), but I also like to be prepared. A few months ago I posted asking everyone their advice on good luck rituals for the holidays.
